Summer Academies

What are they?

The popular Summer Academy programme is running again for 3 weeks with cricket coaching for boys and girls in both younger and older age brackets. Led again by George Setterfield from Bloxham School (and also Cumnor’s club captain) with a team of other qualified coaches from Cumnor CC.

Morning softball groups are geared to school years 1-4, and afternoon hardball groups to years 5-9, including a focus on those year 4s who want to transition to hardball in the 2025 season. In week 2 we can also take a small number of younger ‘softballers’ on an all-day basis.

These sessions are open to all, so do invite your friends along!

When are they?

Weeks of 29th July, 5th August* and 12th August - Monday to Friday.

Softball sessions: 9:00-12:00 for years 1-4
Hardball sessions: 13:00-16:00 for years 5-9 (and year 4s transitioning to hardball)

*Week 2 also has an all-day 9:00-16:00 softball-only option for those who wish to have their children stay morning, lunch and afternoon.

How much is it?

Prices for 2024 are held at last year’s levels:

£22 per day or £99 per week for half day options
£44 per day and £198 per week for week 2 all-day option
Additional 10% discount for current Cumnor CC members (including our All Stars and Dynamos).

A limited number of bursaries are available to support those otherwise unable to attend. Please apply via the President’s Fund here.

How do I book?

New to Cumnor CC? Then first register your child here as a ‘guest’ member.

Once registered, choose a week from the list below, and book the days you need. Select the week (or ‘series’), and deselect any days (or ‘instances’) you don’t want.

We will then check and confirm your booking and then a payment request will be issued. Places are only guaranteed upon full payment.

As in previous years, our rain policy is to ‘share the risk’ with attendees, offering a 50% refund if we have to cancel due to bad weather.  We will – where feasible - accommodate a small number of children who cannot be collected and/or are attending for ‘child care’ reasons by laying on indoor activities, especially in week 2 for those children attending all day.

Every child attending needs to be registered on the club’s booking system with an up-to-date parental consent form.
