Cumnor CC is proud to have a team of highly qualified coaches with excellent cricketing pedigrees and a wealth of experience across various disciplines. Our coaches are profiled below and lead the club across the senior, youth and summer academy sections. We aim to have a high level of cohesion as a club to develop and harness as much talent as possible and support our senior players to gain their training qualifications.

Cumnor Cricket Coach

Duncan Green

Duncan is a full time level 2 cricket coach.

He currently coaches the Oxfordshire County Age Group Boys U15 and the U15 Boys Saxon Squads. He also coaches on the Chance to Shine sessions in primary schools throughout the region.

He will be the lead coach for the senior squads at Cumnor in 2019 running the senior coaching programme on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Duncan has been at the club for three seasons and is the Captain for the 3rd XI.

Sam Arthurs

Sam is an ECB level 3 performance cricket coach.

As well as coaching on Oxfordshires Emerging Players Programme (EPP) for the past 3 winters, Sam leads Oxfordshire’s boys u13 County side and coaches on Warwickshire’s Batting skill set programme during the winter.

He will be leading the junior training on Wednesday evenings with a group of experienced coaches.
He also runs his own training programmes and 1-1 sessions at various venues throughout the winter and summer.

Carla Wood

Carla is a full time level 2 qualified cricket coach.
She currently coaches the girls U17  County side and is currently working with the OCB on their schools and street cricket programmes.
Carla currently plays for Oxford CC and is the opening bowler for the Women’s Oxfordshire County side.

Antony Shorter

Antony has played cricket at Cumnor CC since he was 11 years old, moving up through the ranks and has a genuine love of the game. He has been working as a full time sports coach for 9 years within primary schools across multiple sports disciplines.

He is a level 2 Cricket coach and has also played and coached cricket in New Zealand as well as the UK.

He also has qualifications in coaching studies and multi skills development (level 2) community sports leadership (level 3) as well as experience in working with disabled people in sport.

Joe Clapton

Joe has played cricket at Cumnor CC since he was 9-years old, and is currently captain of our Sunday Adult Side.

Joe is a level 2 ECB qualified cricket coach and is part of our coaching team delivering winter nets and summer training
